The Uniformed Services East Chapter ("Chapter East") is a chapter of the
American Academy of Pediatrics. Members dedicate their efforts of behalf
of the Chapter to improve the health, safety and well-being of infants,
children and adolescents both in and out of the military health system.
The Chapter has over 400 members who are pediatricians, pediatric
nurses, pediatric surgical specialists and allied professionals. Members
are currently serving or have served in our Armed Forces on bases east of
the Mississippi. Many of our members are serving abroad in Iraq, Afghanistan
or in forward bases in Germany.
In whatever role our members serve -- as pediatricians or brigade surgeons --
the Chapter and its members are in the unique position to provide expertise
on pediatric issues as they relate to national issues of bioterrorism,
humanitarian assistance operations and federal health care delivery.
